The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Amendment) Regulations 2021
(LCM Code ECC25)

• Part 2 of the Regulations amend the retained version of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 regarding the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH).
• Part 3 of the Regulations sets to amend two Commission Implementing Regulations made under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. Regulation 9 amends Regulation (EU) 2019/1692, regarding the application of specific registration and data-sharing provisions. Regulation 10 is purposed at amending Regulation (EU) 2020/1435, regarding the duties of registrants to update their registrations.
• Part 4 amends numerous Commission Implementing Decisions that previously granted authorisations under Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 before the end of the transition period.

The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information (Lighting Products) Regulations 2021

These regulations have been introduced to provide additional information on lighting products contained within the The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information Regulations 2021.

The regulations have been established to provide a specific focus on lighting products within The Ecodesign for Energy-Related Products and Energy Information 2021. Part 2 specifically focusses on laying out ecodesign requirements for light sources and separate gears, while Part 3 sets energy labelling requirements for light sources.

Progress on The Environment Bill 2020
The Bill is currently in the House of Lord for the third reading, with the next sitting occurring on October 13th. Once this stage has been completed, a consideration of amendments will take place, followed by royal assent.
