Hazardous Waste Regulations 2015
On 1st June 2015 changes in the Hazardous Waste Regulations came into force right across Europe. The regulations were aligned with the European Regulations on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) of substances and mixtures consequently making alterations to the classification of waste and hazardous waste. They have revoked the List of Waste Regulations 2005 which includes a list of 6 digit codes known as EWC codes. Some of these codes have been revised and now form part of the ‘EU List of Wastes’ which can have a major impact on the transport and recyclability of waste as well as permits, licences and other related documentation.
