The Story

In this episode, we’re joined by Andy from Simplicity Cars. Andy is not your typical car salesman. He is truly passionate about cars and his business and I’m sure you’ll be able to tell that from listening to the show. He makes the journey of buying a car as easy as possible for you and given that he only gets his payment from the suppliers, you’re sure of getting it at a fair price.

He shares how he runs his business, interacts with his clients, and what happens in case your car is delayed. In a world where ethics and car dealership cannot be put in the same sentence, it would be a pity to miss listening to this podcast.

About Simplicity Cars I help people find cars in the easiest and most ethical way possible. It’s widely known that the car industry is notorious for no ethics but I takes pride in being one of the few ethical people around. What is your purpose and who do you work with? I work with individuals as well as companies. My work is to take away the pain of having to sell a car from people. I know how hard it is and therefore I strive to save them time and energy. I also help people make the right choice since it’s quite easy to overlook some stuff when buying. What is your business superpower? I would like to say thinking outside of the box. Whether it’s extreme ownership or if there’s a problem, they think of me even if it’s a problem that has come from the manufacturer. I want to do the thinking for people. What is extreme ownership? Sometimes I have supply problems with a vehicle, and I take ownership of that. It’s usually not my fault when something is being delayed in the factory but I come up with an alternative instead of completely laying it as the manufacturers’ fault. I care about my clients. How does Simplicity Cars engage its suppliers and customers with your mission and purpose? There are numerous dealership groups so I try and work with people who I can get on with. So if I can get on with someone in a dealer group, then I know they will be of help to me. I then make sure I bring my personality to my customers and speaking to them in a non-salesy way. I love having a chat and conversation with someone whether it’s one on one or through the website. Getting excited with the clients makes a huge, huge difference. What has been your biggest struggle when it comes to running an ethical and sustainable business and how have you overcome it? I get paid by my supplying dealers and I get absolutely nothing from my clients. I get comments on a regular that I should have a sliding scale depending on how expensive a vehicle is, where I could earn more. For me, it’s not about that but I make sure that I can run the business efficiently and sustainably on what I get paid. My business is purpose-driven. If you could offer ONE piece of advice to our listeners, what would that be? I know it sounds cheesy, but love what you’re doing. If you’re doing something that you love and enjoy and are passionate about that comes through for people. I love the idea of extreme ownership. I would highly advice people not to be afraid to take ownership of their business despite all the possibilities of failure. What’s the best way we can connect with you and learn more? The easiest way is to get in touch with me directly through my website www.Simplicity-cars.co.uk. The website will lead you to my email and phone number and you can also take advantage of the live chat. I am more than happy to give people advice on what car to purchase.
