Marmi Limited is a company that considers its environmental responsibilities in everything it does. That’s why the provider of bespoke stone interiors wanted to maintain its environmental certification and improve on environmental best practice within the organisation. It also wanted to facilitate the tendering process to expand its potential client base.

Marmi aimed to continue to effectively manage its environmental impacts and ensure full compliance with environmental legislation and guidelines. This would also go some way to ensure that high environmental standards and competency was achieved throughout the company.

By creating bespoke, efficient training strategies that could be delivered to key staff members, it would make it easier to get everyone onside. Therefore, Green Element carried out this task at the start due to its high importance.

Green Element’s next step was to carry out the necessary work to meet the requirements for Marmi’s continued ISO 14001 Environmental Management System certification.

It also carried out extensive waste, contractor and site audits to ensure legal compliance and best practice principles are being followed.

Green Element adopted a flexible and pragmatic approach, reflecting data availability, particularly for the monitoring of waste.

It also utilised the company’s environmental achievements and progress to help deliver strong tender submissions.

Client Benefits

Despite the limitations, Marmi achieved continued ISO 14001 environmental certification consistent with client tendering requirements.

It was also successful in increasing the miles per gallon of its current fleet by an average of 16% from the previous year.

In addition, Marmi established a waste output baseline including capturing nine tonnes of donated wood. This would enable it to measure and continuously improve on what is a very important part of the business process.
