Quick and Easy Carbon Footprint Report

Access your Scope 1,2 and 3 emissions in an comprehensive report which comes as a pdf or Excel document.

You don't need to use a consultant

Just upload your data and you’re ready to go.

Benchmark yourself against your competitors and other companies in your industry

Your Carbon Footprint Report will come with benchmark information to show you how you compare to other companies in your industry.

We developed Compare Your Footprint because of a demand from companies that want to reduce their carbon footprint but are not ready to engage with experts.

Over the years we noticed that many companies would love to be more green but were being held back by the initial financial barriers. By semi-automating the process, we’ve been able to significantly reduce the cost of assessment and create a more open playing field.

How does Compare Your Footprint work?

Enter your Data

This is where you enter all your basic data; this should come from water and energy companies, travel agents, and/or finance and procurement.

We calculate your Carbon Usage

In the past this was the hard part, we now complete it all for you! all that data – hey presto, you have Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions footprint!

Compare Your Footprint

You now know your Carbon Footprint, how do you fare with others in your industry? You are benchmarked with us…..
Essentially there are two steps. The first calculates the carbon footprint, the second, on the back of the information you have provided, benchmarks the findings from the carbon footprint. It is as Easy as 1, 2, 3!!

The first step requires data, the more of which you have the better.  However, the model has been designed by experienced environmental management consultants who have enjoyed many years of overcoming the challenges of incomplete data sets so although pristine data sets are most welcome, the model has also been adapted to cope with less than perfect data.

The basic data requirements are energy use and in order to calculate an intensity ratio, the total meter square coverage of buildings, number of full time employees and or turnover. This can be entered over a time period of your choice and as either a total for the company or ideally as a total per facility.  The same is true of all other data such as water usage, waste tonnage, business and freight travel, paper usage, IT procurement, catering costs; the list is endless. The tool combines simplicity with an exhaustive reporting structure enabling a comprehensive carbon footprint.

The model applies DEFRA conversion factors to produce a report which adheres to the GHG protocol standard ensuring all data can be confidently used within communications to employees, customers and shareholders. Please click on a the following link to an example report.

The second step is the benchmarking. This also requires data but you can breathe a sigh of relief- this data has already been collected.  The model uses an amalgamation of data collected by Green Element throughout their many years of environmental consultancy, along with publicly reported emission data from annual reports and in addition the data entered from other users of Compare Your Footprint. All this data is anonymous.

A carbon footprint is a measure of the impacts of an activity on global warming by calculating the greenhouse gas emissions of these activities, usually stated as a ‘CO2e’, carbon dioxide equivalent. This is done to show all key greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide) expressed as a common unit, allowing easy comparison across organisations, industries and countries
Why would an organisation calculate their carbon footprint?
A number of reasons such as communication, benchmarking and regulatory compliance, but the main benefit is to measure and understand how the organisation is performing environmentally.
