Project: Conducting a Waste Audit/Understand Legislation and Reduce Contract Cost.
The purpose of a full waste audit is to enable Metropolitan Housing Partnership to understand their waste in more detail in order ensuring compliance with legislation and look for further reductions where possible. The waste audit highlights areas where recycling can be better improved and help in providing exact information to procure the services of the best waste provider to suit your organisations needs.

Objectives:
- Verify waste is stored legally and safely
- Understand the current legislation
- Ensure the correct permits, season tickets and documentation are in place
- Make sure the hazardous waste is dealt properly
- Have consultaions that their is no chance of any fines or imprsonment for top management
- Analyse Waste and reduce contract price accross the UK
Approach and Deliverables:
- The waste audit will be implemented on-site;
- Measured

- Weighed
- The waste audit will need an approximate 10sq ft area, for a full week.
- A questionairre to all Facilities staff
- A waste report on what MHP are doing and how to improve on their current processes
- Highlighting key areas for improvement
- Introducing new cost saving strategies
- Training session on waste and legislation

- Cost savings through knowing number of bins needed.
- Understanding the current waste requirements
- Able to tender for a more efficient waste contractor.
- Able to cut waste with knowledge of where these reductions are.
- The waste audit will enable MHP as an organisation to understand the exact quantities of the waste, facilitating a knowledge that will help MHP reduce, re-use and recycle their waste inline with the key steps of an environmental management system.
