Environmental Advice

Appointed to undertake an environmental research study to establish the environmental impact of the car manufacturing industry in Europe, North America and the rest of the World. The study, undertaken for British Petroleum, BP, Research & Development, established the CO2 footprint of a standard passenger car over its entire life-cycle, considering the amount of energy required to manufacture the vehicle. It allowed BP to better understand elements of the car manufacturing market to establish ways in which it could develop products to benefit that industry and reduce the impact on the environment.

Appointed to undertake an environmental impact study to establish the beneficial impact on the environment of introducing a revolutionary new lubricant designed to reduce CO2 emissions in cars. The study, undertaken for BP Research & Development, modelled the projected increase in car usage and considered increases in engine efficiency achieved with the new product to establish the potential reduction in CO2 emissions.

Appointed to undertake a commercial and contractual review of asbestos survey and removal activities at a Grade 1 listed railway station redevelopment programme. As part of the £450m redevelopment of St Pancras Station, a Grade 1 listed building identified by English Heritage as the fourth most important heritage site in the United Kingdom, reviewing the performance of specialist contractors against Contract and Heritage requirements to verify compliance and the commercial impact of non-compliance.

Appointed to undertake an environmental audit of a new build residential development. The client was keen to establish ways in which environmentally friendly materials could best be used in construction combined with ways of increasing energy efficiency. The audit led to changes in the materials specified for the development and identified ways of integrating the production of renewable energy into the development as a whole.

Appointed to undertake an environmental impact study to establish ways of reducing the environmental impact of loft conversions. The study, commissioned by an architectural practice, considered ways of reducing the environmental impact through material selection and increased energy efficiency to reduce the overall CO2 footprint of any such development.

Appointed to give advice on restructuring company management systems, integrating an Environmental Management System into the already existing Management System.
